Good Old Moroccan Koumaya / Jambiya Dagger - 7696

The Moroccan version of the Arab Jambiya dagger is locally called Koumaya and characterized by a slender blade, usually dual edged at its lower half and single edge at the top. There is a big variety in the decoration styles and quality of the handles and scabbards. This one is circa 1920, of a good quality, with a 9 1/2 inches blade, fine engraved silver scabbard with typical floral design with side loops. The hilt of carved wood with chased and engraved silver fittings . Good condition, a small damage the wood hilt. |
