Up for sale is this very nice and rare item: An old Chinese mace, probably late 18 or early 19 C, with a ribbed rounded head, 2 inches in diameter and 1 ½ inches tall. The 17 inches haft is forged in one piece with the head. It is of a square cross section at the top 3 inches and rounded for the rest to the tip. It is decorated with engraved lines and dots in geometrical pattern. The head flanges and the top of the haft are inlaid with gold dots (several missing). The tip of the haft is flattened and a a 34 inches long heavy leather strip is connected to it with a steel ring. Very good condition to age. The leather strip is later to the mace, probably mid 20th C.
