Coorg Pichangeti Knife / Dagger from India - 7561
The Pichangeti is one of the rarest knives of the Indian arsenal. It is associated with the Coorg people inhabiting the South Western shores of India. It has a short heavy single edge blade, 6 inches long, brass bolsters and highly decorated silver handle and grips with gold plated buttons and pommel strip. The wood scabbard is also covered with silver pieces, gilded bands and up-curving scabbard tip is in a very clear Arabic influence. Total length 11 inches. Very good condition. An unusual find for the collector of Indian weaponry. |
