Good Heavy Naga Sword Dao Dated 1944 - 7479


The Naga people of Assam (North-East India) and The Kachin people of Myanmar (Burma) uses this very efficient sword / cleaver. It has a heavy blade, widening to maximum width at its very top. This one is a classical mid 20 C. example. Deadly sharp beveled blade, 16 inches long, 2 inch wide at its tip. Wood handle bound with cotton thread and braided rattan bands. Two unidentified letters are engraved into the handle side and the pommel side is engraved: LULUM 20.02.44 . Total length 22 inches. Very good condition. No scabbard.
