Up for sale is this heavy and thick hand shield / Buckler, made of Buffalo (?) hide. 11 ¼ inches in diameter 10 mm thick with four brass bosses. The front of the shield was lacquered deep brown. At such a thickness it will stop a small caliber pistol bullet. Very good condition. Some losses to the lacquere. Minor distortion due to age shrink. One handle strap is missing. Very low price.
