Very Rare Ayda Katti Sword, Coorg, India - 7455
The Ayda Katti is the national sword of the Coorg of Malabar, the South West coastal area of India. It is one of the rarest items in the Indian arsenal and of a very peculiar shape. It reminds in a way an agricultural tool, but it is a real weapon and a deadly one in the experienced hands. The blade of this one is of a sickle shape 15 inches long and more than 3 ½ inches wide at its widest point. The handle is brass with a kite shaped pommel also in brass 21 inches total length. Good condition. Minor pitted patches and battle scars on the edge. A RARE UNIQUE SWORD. |
