Up for sale is this very good Indo-Persian hide shield. The shield diameter is 18 ½ inches, 2 1/2 inches high. It is made of heavy hide (Buffalo ??) covered with black lacquer, with nine bosses: Four pierced copper in the center, three additional brass ones and a lunette shape boss at the top. Inner leather cushion plate with leather straps for the handle. Good condition. There are some cracks and small area of damage to the lacquer on one edge. The hand cushion is torn. Very attaractive Shield with unusual bosses arrangement.
