Fine Wootz (Damascus) Karud / Pesh-Kabz Dagger Afghanistan - 7452

A fine and long ‘KARUD’ (the common name for a ‘Pesh-Kabz’ with straight blade). from North India or Afghanistan origin. A fine wootz blade almost 14 inches long with acute point and reinforced T spine. The grips are elephant ivory with a good age patina. The scabbard is original, wood covered with the original fabric and mounted with pierced brass fittings. Total length (in scabbard) 20 inches. Very good condition. Minor forging flaws on blade. The right grip has a small area of later fitted ivory piece. Small areas of the fabric on the scabbard are worn. A good high quality piece for the advanced collector. |
