We offer for sale this full and complete 18 C. mail armor from India. Including mail and plates shirt, mail trousers and mail head cover, all composed of many thousands of separate rings each one interlaced with four other rings and each one individually welded and / or riveted (see detailed Photo). This is the most authentic and strongest form of mail armor, in contrary to the later ones with open rings or coiled rings like in key holders. This set was made for a big guy: 44 inches tall shirt and 60 inches wide with sleeves fully stretched. The trousers though are of smaller size. The shirt has two chest plates with two buckles in each plate, and three rows of scales on the back. The head cover is mainly mail with a round disk at the top. Very good condition considering its age and extensive use. Very few holes and missing rings. Good age patina with minor pitted areas on the plates. One scale at the shirt back is missing. IT IS VERY SELDOM THAT YOU SEE SUCH A RARE AND COMPLETE SET FOR SALE. This is very precious and interesting addition to any Indian arm collection.
