Qajar Persian Jambiya Dagger with Carved Walrus Hilt - 7374


A good example of late18th Early 19th C. Persian Jambiya. The 9 inches curved blade is beautifully forged with a central rib, from fine Persian wootz (Damascus) steel. The hilt is a solid piece of walrus Ivory. Classical ‘I’ shape and carved on both faces with European styled figures and faces and Arab inscriptions. Total length is13 ¾ inches.Very good condition. The grip carving has a nice age patina. There are some blacken spots to the blade. No scabbard.
