This is a rare and original 18 C. steel ingot from India, made of wootz and coming right out of the crucible ready to be traded and forged into a wootz blade. Luckily it survived and is up for sale. 1¾ inches in diameter, ¾ inch high, in a ball sector shape and about 200 Grams weight. A small area on the side was polished and etched to show the wootz structure, which at this stage can be hardly recognized.
