Old Dao Sword of the Naga - 7313


The Naga people of Assam (North-East India) and The Kachin people of Myanmar (Burma) uses this very efficient sword / cleaver. It has a very heavy blade, widening to maximum width at its very top. This one is a classical example. Heavy sharp blade, 17 ½ inches long, 3 inch wide at its tip, forged from laminated. Wood handle bound with braided rattan. Open wood scabbard bound with braided rattan bands and strips, including the complete rattan made carrying belt. Total length 30 ½ inches (in scabbard). Good condition. Minor wood chips from the handle and from the scabbard. All authentic. No repairs or restorations except a repair to the rattan belt.
