Unusual Persian/ Central Asian Wootz Kard Dagger - 7177

This is one of the most interesting Indo-Persian blades we have seen. A very slender very slightly curved blade 8 ½ inches long, with a central rib and forged from beautiful wootz (Damascus) steel. It is reminding in a way a spear blade but the curvature is not so common in Persian spears. Also the handle with the horn grips and the leather scabbard are all original and were made together with the blade. No a later addition or a secondary use of a spear blade as one might think of. Total length 13 1/2 inches. Very good condition, with few pitted spots on the blade. A surprise item for the Kard collectors offered here at a surprisingly attractive price, considering its quality and rarity.
