This is a very fine early 19 Century or earlier Kattar push dagger, forged from very fine Indian wootz (Damascus, Crystalline) steel. The blade is 8 inches long, of a diamond cross section. Its upper part is beautifully chiseled with a flower pattern and decorated with gold koftgari (now mostly gone). The cross bars and side bars were also decorated with gold koftgari decoration. Total length 16 inches. Very good condition. Considerable part of the gold kofgari work is gone.
