Authentic and Old Dao Sword of the Naga - 7130

The Naga people of Assam (North-East India) and The Kachin people of Myanmar (Burma) uses this very efficient sword / cleaver. It has a very heavy blade, widening to maximum width at its very top. This one is a classical example. Heavy blade with bevelededge, 20 inches long, 3 inch wide at its tip, forged from laminated steel. Wood grip with flared pommel bound with lacquered braided rattan fibers and with a bone pommel cover. Brass grip collar. The scabbard is open on one side, bound also with rattan bands to hold the blade in place, including the complete rattan made carrying belt. Total length 33 inches (in scabbard). Very good condition. Blackened spots and minor edge nicks on the blade. Minor cracks in the scabbard. All authentic. No repairs or restorations. |
