The Barongs heavy leaf shaped blades are known to have superior cutting abilities. This one is quite a common and good old Moro Barong, with a 17 ½ inches blade, relatively long, but narrow blade 2 inches wide. The hilt is carved from a beautiful grained wood in a classical form, bound to the blade tang with brass collar. The scabbard is wood entirely bound with Rattan strips. Total length (In scabbard) 26 inches. Very good condition. Good blade. The pommel has minor chips and there is a very small damaged area on the collar. A simple but effective and impressive piece at a very attractive price.
