Pira (?) Machete / Bolo Sword, Philippines - 7111
Is this a Pira, one of the rarest forms of Moro Swords from Mindanao?? The up-curving blade with its acute tip and the long is very similar to a Pira blade, however the pommel misses its typical long extension. It is nevertheless a very nice, unusual and good quality sword. The 17 inches up-curving blade is well forged and made of quality steel and deadly sharp. The hilt is wood. The scabbard is wood bound with rattan strips and with the original fabric bound at its top. The scabbard comes with its original thread / Belt. An authentic piece. All parts original, no signs of restorations or replaced parts.
