A fine and dated Yataghan Sword. Laminated blade 20 inches long, decorated with gold Koftgari on both faces and dated to 1224 ( 1809 in the Gregorian Calendar).Walrus grips and gilded silver strap and bolster covered with fine granulation work and set with a faceted coral stone at the back. Wood scabbard entirely covered with chased silver. Total length ( In scabbard) 27 inches. Good condition. Superficial pitting on the blade. Small damage to the grip strap. The grips are slightly distorted with age. Scabbard tip is missing.
