The Pulwar’ is the Afghan relative of the Indian Tulwar. The Pulwar hilt is of very distinct shape, with down curving quillons. This one employs a real good old Persian Shamshir blade, forged from fine wootz (Damascus) steel. Heavy, single edge, with a wedge cross section 33 inches long. The hilt is of classical shape Whole steel construction with pierced quillons and langet tips. No scabbard. Total length 39 inches. Very good condition. Several small blackened areas on the blade with minor pitted spots. Beautiful real fighting sword at a very reasonable price.
