A very fine and nice example of a classical “YATAGHAN” from the Balkan with a 23 inches long blade inscribed and dated to 1278 in the Islamic calendar (1861 in the Gregorian calendar). The grips with the side ears are carved from walrus ivory. The grip strap and the blade collar fittings are made of silver with filigree work set with Coral stones. Total length 28 ˝ inches. Very good condition. No scabbard.
