We offer for sale this very fine. very nice 19 C Ottoman / Balkan (probably Albanian) Jambiya dagger, with very large 13 inches blade forged from Sham, the Turkish version of Wootz (Damascus) steel. Massive, 7 inches long 3 inches wide handle cut entirely from a single piece of walrus ivory, with extended corners of the cross guard and pommel sides (Typical Albanian style). Wood scabbard covered with dark brown fabric (later) and mounted with very elegant chased silver mounts. Total length 21 inches (in scabbard). Very good condition. A very impressive item and one of quality.
