Rare and Important Rhino Horn Zulu War Club - 6836

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a magnificent Zulu war club Knobkerrie.
The Knobkerrie is used for hunting, for self protection and as a war club. It is cut and shaped from the stem of various very strong woods, with the branch used as a handle. Rare examples like this one are made of Rhino Horn. It comes in various lengths from 15 and up to 35 inches. This specific one is almost 31 inches long made from a beautiful piece of Rhino Horn attached to a wood section, with 3 1/4 X 3 inches round nicely symetrical head. The length of the Rhino Horn section is 10 ½ and the rest is wood. There is a small ring of horn at the tip of the club. Good solid condition with a small age crack to the horn pole. Beautiful dark age patina. A beautiful piece and an important addition to any collection of African or Tribal art.
