Good Quality Moroccan Jambiya Dagger - 6870

The Moroccan version of the Arab Jambiya dagger is locally called Koumaya and characterized by a slender blade, usually dual edged at its lower half and single edge at the top. There is a big variety in the decoration styles and quality of the handles and scabbards. This one is one of a good quality, with a fine 8 3/4 inches blade etched with floral design and stamped with some type of a bird symbol. It has a big grip carved of Rhino horn. The front side of the scabbard is made of finely worked silver. The back is made of brass and silver. Very good condition. A good quality piece.
